The average weight of these hounds is 15 pounds; they stand from 10 to 13 inches at the shoulders. The body should be short and square; usually such hounds are tailless. The only accepted coat color is black, but pet quality hounds can be fawn, tan and brown. In the schipperke dog rescue all dogs are provided with basic training.
